C-Line Employee Profiles

Today, we profile a C-Line employee so you can get to know them better. These profiles will run intermittently throughout the year. Check back often to find out more about your favorite C-Line employees.

What’s your name?
Bill Hicks. Some people call me Bill. Others call me William or Will. I like the nickname Liam, but no one calls me that. I don’t like Will-I-Am. Nor do I like being called Mr. Bill. Sluggo doesn’t like it either. So, don’t do it. LOL.

What’s your title?
Digital Marketing Content Manager.

How long have you worked at C-Line Products?
I started the end of August 2019.

What does your job entail?
Digital, Marketing, Content, Management. But it entails handling the updating of content on e-commerce sites and the backend of our website, email blasts, creating social media posts, and writing blog articles.

What is your typical day like?
Typical. There is no typical. I have schedules I must meet every week and have certain tasks I do. When I’m not creating eblasts, or blog posts and social media snippets, I’m sending out eGift cards for the winners of our weekly email contest, or creating new and interesting organizational tools with C-Line’s assortment of products for blog posts, or updating content on the backend of our websites using FileZilla or Dreamweaver.

Describe your favorite memory from work?
My favorite memory was when we went to the Cubs game for the C-Line’s 70th Anniversary and I was welcomed with open arms.

What’s a common question you get from customers?
There are no common questions…. just common pe….err, I mean everyone has a unique perspective and interesting questions. We do get some interesting questions from Amazon, which I answer. Someone once asked: What material was used to make this product: C-Line Transparency Film for Inkjet Printers (60937). The answer is polyester.

What do you like most about your job?
There is a wide variety of responsibilities. I get to learn a lot. And I love to write and post on social media.

Where are you from?
Why do you ask? I mean, the Chicagoland area. I grew up in Edgewater and eventually moved to the Northwest suburbs (Arlington Heights) for work.

Where did you go to school?
I went to a lot of different schools. College=Northeastern Illinois University. Graduate school=National Louis University.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working? (e.g. hobbies)
Sleep. OK, that’s just one thing. I enjoy attending Toastmasters meetings, where we learn about leadership and giving public speeches. I also enjoy going to antique flea markets.

Who are your favorite sports teams?
I support Chicago sports teams, though I’m not a huge sports fan.

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I collect ceramic angels from the 50s and 60s. Now you know why I go to those antique flea markets
